SDCC Committee Members and Duties for 2011-2012

The San Diego Cherokee Community maintains a council comprised of nine members with specific functions. The duties of each council member was developed to ensure the organization maintains proper and honorable representation in the community and to safeguard the integrity of San Diego Cherokee Community. We strive to provide accurate and useful information and promise to conduct ourselves with the the best interest of the organization, our heritage, and the Cherokee Nation in mind.

The council members below were elected during the May 2011 meeting and have committed to a term of one year. At the end of this period, elections will be held in accordance with the by laws of San Diego Cherokee Community.

Phillip Powers -- Council Leader, Meeting Facilitator & Community Outreach
This position shall facilitate both council and regular meetings or keep records in the absence of the regular Facilitator or Records Keeper, and who shall act as the representative spokesperson for the organization to the public as directed by the Council in Community Outreach.

Phil Konstantin -- Meeting Facilitator & SDCC Spokesperson
This position shall co-facilitate meetings and who shall act as the representative spokesperson for the organization to the public as directed by the Council.

Joe Radeker -- Treasurer
This position shall keep all financial accounts, and who shall convey information concerning the dues of new and renewed memberships to the Membership Coordinator.

Mona Oge -- Membership Coordinator
This position shall keep updated membership rolls, compile an annual membership directory for distribution to the membership, provide notification of pending renewal dates to members, and supply current membership lists monthly to the newsletter committee.

George Lynch -- Record-keeper
This position shall take attendance and keep minutes at Council and general meetings, and who shall maintain all other records except as herein provided.

Patrick Bea -- Webmaster and Newsletter Editor
This position edits, writes, compile and send out the community newsletter. This position maintains the community's two websites.

Etta Miller -- Telephone Membership Outreach
This position communicates with those members who do not have emails.

Cindy Swayze -- Event Program Coordinator
This position shall organize the agendas and coordinate general meetings and who shall alternate monthly in conducting the general meetings.

Jennifer Parramore -- Event Program/Email Communications Coordinator
This position shall organize the agendas and coordinate general meetings and who shall alternate monthly in conducting the general meetings. The position maintains communications with the members through electronic means.
